Welcome to class 4AJ's webpage,

It is great to have the children return from their break and we are looking forward to thinking about future careers this term. Term six heralds many changes across the curriculum. For English, we are covering various areas of spelling, punctuation and grammar, the writing focus will be delivered through reading the text 'Fly Eagle, Fly' written by Christopher Gregorowski. The Tudor period topic culminates in a visit to the Museum of Kent Life then we move onto our aspirational careers topic 'Building Brighter Futures.' This topic will get off to a roaring start with our 'What's my line?' assembly delivered the first week back.  . For science this term, we will be continuing our learning about sounds and building upon prior knowledge gained at KS1.  PE r4eturns to Wednesday afternoons until the end of the year.  Swimming will commence with sessions delivered on Tuesday.

Helpful web-links and areas to work on over the summer break:

Worried about keeping your children busy over the summer? Do they need to keep practicing skills e.g. times tables or they lose it?

Then encourage your child to work through some of the interactive sites below. The series of links are intended to help you support your child's learning, please note that Christ Church Academy and its employees accept no responsibility for the content of third party sites.

Times tables, number bonds and other maths facts!

At the beginning of last term your child was issued with a login and password for the TT Rockstars site. We recommend that you get to learn the site alongside your child so you can see how the different exercises support your child through repeating tricky questions and also helping them progress by showing them their scores as a heat map. If you have any questions about the programme and how to help your child make the most of it please do not hesitate to see me afterschool, where I would be delighted to talk you through it. If your child forgets their password or log in please notify us and we will reissue a new one.
