The Safeguarding & Welfare Team

Who is responsible for Safeguarding in the School?

At Christ Church CEP Academy, everyone is responsible for ensuring high standards of pupil behaviour, safety and welfare.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is the one responsible for all matters related to safeguarding in the school.

At our school, this person is Miss Perkins (Deputy Headteacher) and the Deputy DSL's are Mr Flack (Headteacher), Mrs Atkins (Early Years Team Leader).

The named governor with responsibility for safeguarding and welfare is Mrs Sue Dinsdale and she can be contacted through the school office.

What if I have a concern regarding a child?

Concerns are recorded, raised immediately and then discussed within the Safeguarding Team to identify the appropriate support/action. Every week, the team meet and review all concerns that are currently ongoing and discuss new referrals from staff and parents.

If you have any concerns about the welfare of any child in school, then please do not hesitate to come in and speak to any member of the team or you can email dsl@christ-church-folkestone.kent.sch.uk

We are also lucky enough to have Mrs Jo Diwell at Christ Church, who is our Family Liaison Officer (FLO) she is part of the Safeguarding and Welfare Team and is always available to support in any situation.
