Family Support
At Christ Church we understand that families have their ups and downs and we understand that this can have an impact on our pupils and their learning.
All of our staff are passionate about helping families as much as we can. We might be able to:
- Offer advice about behaviour at home
- Make changes in school to support children
- Provide a staff contact to support children's wellbeing in school
You can approach any of our staff if you have a concern. Mrs Diwell (Family Liaison Officer) and Miss Perkins (Deputy Headteacher) would also be able to provide further support.
If you are experiencing a problem which we are unable to help with as a school we will signpost you to an organisation that can
These agencies include:
- School Nurses
- Early Help
- Social Services
- Citizens Advice Bureau
- Counselling Services
- Local Churches and Charities
- Adult Education
- Domestic Abuse Services
- Migrant Help
- Housing
We acknowledge the trauma which a bereavement can bring to a family. If you and your child have been affected please contact us and we can work together to support you and your child.

Family Liaison Officer
Who am I?
I am thrilled to introduce myself to you as the Family Liaison Officer (FLO) at Christ Church. My name is Jo Diwell, and I have had the pleasure of serving our school community for over 20 years. I am dedicated to supporting the children and families here at Christ Church.
If you ever need any assistance or information regarding your child, please do not hesitate to get in touch. I am here to help in any way I can.
What is a FLO?
The FLO plays an important role in supporting parents, carers, and pupils with any barriers or problems that may be affecting their home or school life, and in turn, impacting the children's learning.
A FLO is available to listen, provide support, and help families find the right assistance they need. Additionally, they organise courses for both adults and children, as well as various get-togethers such as coffee mornings. You will find information on these via the dojo or our weekly newsletter.
If you ever feel the need to reach out, whether for a chat or for some guidance, please do not hesitate to contact me, I am here to support and assist you in any way I can.
How to contact me:
I am available to contact in the following ways - maybe it's a cup of tea and a chat in person, maybe through the Dojo app, or a quick phone call or email, whatever works best for you and your family .
I'm usually on the playground in the morning or afternoon, so feel free to drop by whenever it's convenient for you. It's always lovely to have a chat and connect with you.
Looking forward to catching up soon!
