Year 1 science - weather and seasons.
This term we have been looking at weather and seasons but will also continue with our 'materials' topic during the term.
Today, we popped outside to observe and identify clouds. Some of the clouds in the photos are taken from today, some are taken from last week.
The children have asked some interesting questions: I wonder why clouds are different shapes? Why is it flat on the bottom? How do clouds stay in the air? How does water go in a cloud? Why does water go up? Are there clouds in heaven? Does the sun suck up the water? Looking at these questions, I can see there are definitely some budding scientists in year 1!
To find out more, year 1 have taken home their own cloud chart to complete this week and we will be doing a class cloud chart throughout the year. We will be thinking about how clouds may be similar or different at different times of the year.
