Year 1-Adjectives
In year 1 we are very good at using nouns to name things. We have also learnt that a person's name is written with a capital letter because it is a proper noun. Next, we moved on to using adjectives to describe the nouns. On the first lesson about adjectives, the children found this quite tricky but consequent lessons have shown that they are grasping the idea quite well. The pictures show the adjectives that the children have come up with to describe a banana - who knew there'd be so many - and other adjectives to describe Traction Man. We're really impressed with the way they have caught on to this idea; the next step is to be able to use their adjectives in a piece of writing.
If you're wondering what the dots and lines are for, they relate to the phonic sounds that the letters make. These are the sounds we learn in Read Write Inc and also use in all other lessons.
