Topic- Geography- Mapping

We have started looking at our local area and recently drew simple sketch maps of Folkestone and the key features that we knew including; Radnor Park, The Channel Tunnel, Harbour and Old High Street. We then looked at natural and man-made physical features to compare urban and rural environments. The children compared and sorted different pictures to decide which were rural or urban and explain their reasons why using topical vocabulary. Finally, we developed our speaking and listening skills by sharing our pictures with class and talking about the different features with the picture.
