The Great Stingrays Bake Off

Each term we include a WOW event to encourage the children's learning and involvement in the new topic.  Our first WOW event of the year was to make THE VERY BUNS that were made in the bakery in Pudding Lane.  This bakery was responsible for starting the Great Fire of London as sparks escaped from the oven and set light to the building.  The fire spread rapidly because of a very dry summer and a few windy days wafting the flames across London.  The children enjoyed baking the buns and, afterwards, some of their parents came to visit the class and were able to taste them.  Everybody agreed, they were quite delicious!
