2J History-The Great Fire of London
Throughout Term 1 we have been learning about The Great Fire of London. The children have covered a range of learning activities to bring this fascinating period of history to life. They have asked questions about what they wanted to find out, used secondary sources to compare London/Fire engines from that period to the modern era, role-played key events and used the famous diary of Samuel Pepys as inspiration to write their own diary entry from the point of view of an eye witness.
Here are a few photos of children using our outdoor area to perform a re-enactment of the Great Fire. There are also photos of their work using sorting rings to compare maps of London then and now, showing which landmarks still remain or were lost during or since the fire.
