2J- PSHE/Jigsaw: Celebrating Differences
As our continuing work in celebrating differences this term, we have looked at similarities and differences between girls and boys. We discussed the term assumptions and stereotypes. We looked a different scenarios that may make assumptions about one gender or another and the class responded with their thoughts. We found out that there were far more similarities between girls and boys than there were differences. We found out that most children in 2J liked playing computer games not just boys. We found out that pink was not most girls favourite colour but that many boys liked that colour too. We also found out many similarities and fewer differences between the genders and within genders. The children concluded that the main differences between the genders was that most girls had longer hair than boys, body parts and girls mature emotionally earlier than boys (not all agreed with this!)
