1A and 1K RE - Why does Easter matter to Christians?

Today we started learning about the importance of Easter to Christians.  

We went outside to look for signs of new life.  We noticed blossom, daffodils growing, crocuses and the apple tree starting to get some buds.  We remembered the apple tree when it had apples on it and talked about the buds growing into new leaves and blossom and, eventually, more apples.
