Year 2 have recently visited a local allotment to find out what's been growing on (going on!). We spotted lots of lovely strawberries (they wouldn't let us pick any!) and recognised a few different plants. We talked about what things need to grow and found out that the plants need a lot of protection from birds and bugs. The following week we planted our own sunflower seeds and we are going to find out what sort of conditions they like best. We've even put a sunflower seed in marmite to see what happens!
