Chinese New Year

22nd Jan 2017

This week all reception children will be learning about the Chinese New Year, the key traditions we will be focussing on are:

  • Giving of red wallets
  • Dragon dances
  • Cleaning the house
  • Eating and celebrating with family
  • Fireworks

We are really looking forward to sampling traditional Chinese food on Wednesday 25th January (everyone needs to bring £1) and learning about the Year of the Rooster. Everyone has a  zodiac animal associated to them depending on the year they were born.

The years below are a rough guide, but if you were born in January or February it may be slightly different as the new year moves between 21 January and February 20.
